Recently weather does not spoil the inhabitants of our country. They are constantly accompanying us heavy rainfall, storms, strong gusts of wind and even hail. Last year weekend the storm hit the Podkarpacie region, including Mielecwhere fallen trees blocked roads and some people lost their homes. IMGW alerts: Massive storms are approaching Poland again. There will be heavy rains and strong gusts of wind

On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, IMGW has published new storm warningswhich apply to a large part of the country. In many regions, there will be heavy rainfall and strong winds, which in western Poland may blow at speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour. In this case, there is also a risk the formation of so-called tornadoes. In total, first, second and third degree alerts were issued on a three-point scale.

In the zone of the strongest phenomena, the following are forecast: heavy rainfall locally up to 80 mm, wind gusts locally up to 120 km/h. Hail in places. Locally possible tornado.

IMGW Weather: Where is the storm in Poland now? The next hours may be very difficult

At this moment third degree storm warnings (from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) they concern the following provinces:

  • West Pomeranian,
  • lubuskie,
  • Lower Silesia – in the western counties,
  • Greater Poland – in the western counties,
  • Pomeranian Voivodeship – in the western counties.

Second degree warnings (from Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to Thursday until 2:00 a.m.) apply in the following voivodeships:

  • Lower Silesia – outside the counties where higher level warnings apply,
  • Wielkopolska – outside the counties where higher level warnings apply and Koło County,
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship – except for the following counties: Grudziądz, Wąbrzeźno, Brodnica, Rypin, Lipno, Golub-Dobrzyń, Włocławek and Włocławek,
  • Pomeranian – in the counties of: Puck, Wejherowo, Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk, Gdańsk, Kartuzy, Kościerzyna, Starogard, Tczew, Chojnice.

Lowest alerts are valid in the following voivodeships:

  • Opole,
  • Silesian – except for the counties of Żywiec, Cieszyn, Bielsk, Bielsko-Biała,
  • Lodz,
  • Greater Poland – in the Koło district,
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship – poviats: Grudziądz, Grudziądz, Wąbrzeźno, Brodnica, Rypin, Lipno, Golub-Dobrzyń, Włocławek, Włocławek,
  • Pomeranian – in the counties of Nowy Dwór, Malbork, Sztum, Kwidzyn,
  • Warmia-Masuria – in the western counties,
  • Masovian Voivodeship – in the western counties.
